Al Ghurair Vehicle Testing Centre is a vehicle testing centre in Ras Al Khaimah. Rectangle Interiors delivered the space planning, the fit-out and the bespoke joinery. Delivering in Ras Al Khaimah meant working to that emirate's own approvals process.
Designed and built by one team.
Two audiences share this building at once: customers waiting, and staff running a technical operation. The two need separating without either being treated as the afterthought, and that is the substance of the plan.
Ras Al Khaimah has its own authority and its own approvals route, and carrying that sat inside our scope alongside the interior and the fit-out.
A building that serves the public runs on sequence: where people enter, where they wait, where they are called and how they leave. Get that wrong and no amount of finish fixes it. Ras Al Khaimah also means a different municipality and a different approvals route from Dubai.
Counters, waiting seating and the back-of-house storage were built in our workshop, which let the customer hall be installed as a set of finished runs rather than assembled in front of the people using it.
