What is Radisson InterContinental?
Radisson InterContinental is a hotel interior in Deira Creek, Dubai. Rectangle Interiors delivered the interior design, the fit-out and the bespoke joinery. Design, fit-out and joinery were delivered by a single in-house team.

This was a refurbishment at Deira Creek, in one of the oldest parts of hotel Dubai. Refurbishment differs from a new fit-out in that you inherit the building's existing conditions, and what you find behind the finishes sets the programme.
Phasing kept the property operating while the interior and the fit-out went in, with joinery from our own workshop.
Refurbishment in an older property means the survey matters more than the drawing. Levels, services and structure rarely match the record documents, and the programme has to absorb what is found once finishes come off rather than treat it as a variation.
What the survey found once finishes came off was absorbed into the programme rather than raised as a variation, which is the difference between a refurbishment that holds its date and one that does not.
