An executive lounge inside the H Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, used as a workplace by people who are not employees. It has to feel like a business environment and a hotel amenity at the same time.
Everything was run to the hotel's operating pattern, from the interior and the fit-out through to the fitted joinery.
A workplace inside a hotel inherits the hotel's operation — access, deliveries and working hours are the property's to set, and the space has to look finished at the end of every shift because guests are passing it. It also has to read as a workplace, not as another lounge.
The fitted joinery was made off site and installed complete, which suits a programme where the working window is short and the surroundings stay open.
