What is Elevation Fitness?
Elevation Fitness is a gym in One by Omniyat. Rectangle Interiors delivered the interior design, the fit-out and the fitted joinery. The fit-out was designed inside the building's shell and approved against the landlord's rules.
Designed and built by one team.
Putting a gym inside a commercial tower is harder than fitting out a standalone unit: the structure limits floor loading, and noise and vibration have to be controlled for the tenants above and below.
The acoustic and structural constraints were designed for rather than worked around, in an interior and fit-out that included the reception and changing-room joinery.
Floor loading is the first constraint in a tower, not the last: free weights concentrate load in a way a commercial floor plate is not designed for, and the build-up has to control impact noise reaching the floors below. Ventilation is sized for occupancy rather than area.
Reception and changing-room joinery came out of our workshop, and the heavier build-ups were installed before any finish went down.
