Guests at a Palm Jumeirah resort spend far more time in the public areas than they would in a city hotel. That shifts the emphasis of the work towards the lobby, the circulation and the F&B spaces.
The whole package — interior, fit-out and joinery from our own workshop — was phased around a property that stayed open.
Refurbishing a resort that is still taking bookings means the work is done in sections, with each one handed back before the next opens up. Public-area finishes are specified for a rate of use no house ever sees — the same floor takes every arrival, every departure and every trip to the beach.
Each section was snagged and signed off before the next was opened up, so the resort recovered its public areas progressively instead of waiting for a single completion.
