Emirates Hills Villa

Emirates Hills is a low-density community of large private plots, and the houses on it tend to be one-offs rather than developer product. This was a full interior on that basis, planned around the household rather than around a resale specification.

The work covered space planning, finishes, joinery and furniture as a single package. Everything built in came from our own workshop, and the house was handed over finished rather than as a shell for someone else to complete.

On plots of this size the interior has to hold rooms that are larger than domestic proportion normally allows. Ceiling heights and room widths that would overwhelm a standard house have to be brought back to human scale through the joinery and the lighting rather than the furniture.

The house was delivered as one package, so the junctions between trades — where large rooms usually show their weaknesses — stayed the responsibility of a single team.
