Jumeirah Park

Jumeirah Park is a family community of standard villa types, so the interior is where one house is distinguished from its neighbours. The plan is largely fixed; what changes is how the volume gets used and how well the built-in elements fit it.

The work covered design, fit-out, joinery and furnishing. Storage was made to measure throughout, which in a house built to a standard type is the most useful thing you can change.

In a community of repeating villa types the interior is the only thing that separates one house from the next, so the work goes into the built-in elements — where storage is added, how the stair is treated, what happens to the double-height space most of these houses share.

The joinery was made in our workshop, and Nakheel's community rules on approvals, working hours and contractor access set the programme rather than the other way round.
