What is Toqa Coffee?
Toqa Coffee is a coffee shop in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Rectangle Interiors took it from concept design through construction, including the counter and the fitted joinery. The work was delivered outside the UAE, with the joinery made in Dubai and shipped complete.

Delivering a coffee shop in Riyadh rather than the UAE changes the job well before design: a different regulatory regime, a different contractor market, and a supply chain that has to be planned around the border.
Producing the joinery in our own workshop and shipping it to site is how the specification was held at that distance, with the interior and the fit-out delivered alongside it.
A different country means different approvals, different suppliers and a shipping window that has to be built into the programme rather than absorbed by it. Anything not resolved before mobilisation is resolved slowly.
Approvals, suppliers and shipping were settled before mobilisation, so the work on site was assembly against a fixed date rather than problem-solving at distance.
